Founders House was founded in 2011 and moved to Islands Brygge in 2014 to establish Startup Village in collaboration with e.g. Vivino, Autobutler, Creandum and Northzone. As the largest tech hub in the Nordics, Startup Village and Founders House attracts the attention of many, as evidenced by the great support for yesterday’s anniversary.

Great benefits of being in Founders House

Following Kemp & Kjær’s involvement in Founders House’s press efforts leading up to the anniversary, we were there from start to finish, talking to guests, participating startups and guest speakers.

Andreas M. Hansen, Creative Director at A-SPACE and (re)known for his Instagram account, sees great benefits in being in Founders House.

– Founders House can help with a lot of things. We’ve been in contact with several companies out here and have also signed contracts with a few. The strength of sitting with other startups is that you can help each other. Often there is no need for a full-time designer. Instead, it’s smaller tasks that we would love to help with,” Andreas M. Hansen told Kemp & Kjær.

Among the many guests at the anniversary we met Majbritt Alemany from Integra Advokater.

– We have come to see what’s going on at the various startups and hear their stories in more depth, Majbritt Alemany told Kemp & Kjær.

Great interest in Silicon Valley

It wasn’t just the individual startups that attracted a lot of interest, but also the opportunity to meet investors like Seed Capital and NorthCap.

Finally, the various guest speakers helped to complete the day’s program. Among the guest presentations was a presentation about life in Silicon Valley and the connection from Silicon Valley to Startup Village and Founders House. Behind the presentation were Danish Torsten Kolind and the two American lawyers Marek Adamo and Chiara Portner. This attracted a lot of attention.

Torsten Kolind, who has lived in Silicon Valley for the past seven years, was very enthusiastic about the development of the Danish startup community and added:

– Founders House has been absolutely fantastic for the Nordic startup culture – both the Nordic, Danish and Copenhagen startup culture – I think it has been fantastic to follow. They have really done well,” Torsten Kolind said to Kemp & Kjær.

Marek Adamo also expressed his enthusiasm for Founders House when we spoke to him:

– Coming here and seeing a place like Founders House is really cool. Seeing that something really similar to what we are used to at home works so well here is great, and it tells me that there is a lot of similarity between our two countries, Marek Adamo told Kemp & Kjær.

Huge turnout

Founders House’s five-year anniversary ended with champagne, networking and a panel discussion with Co-founder & CEO of Vaavud Thomas Helms, CEO of Corti Labs Andreas Cleve and politicians Ida Auken and Danny Malkowski.

Throughout the day, more than 1,200 guests stopped by, and the closing reception had a huge turnout.
