In 2013, when the founders of SBT Aqua were still students at DTU in Copenhagen, they developed a technology that can measure bacterial content in water in real time. Since then, the technology has been further developed and SBT Aqua can now measure inorganic particles and bacterial content in water in real time via wireless sensors.

Clean drinking water for everyone

– SBT Aqua wins this year’s Green Tech Challenge because they have a vision to ensure clean drinking water worldwide. They have a super strong team, great partners, the business understanding needed for global success and paying happy customers, says Martin A. Petersen, co-founder of Green Tech Challenge.

Currently, manual sampling, which is then analyzed in the laboratory, is the most common method of measuring bacterial content in water – a process that can take up to three days. With its unique technology, SBT Aqua provides a real-time view of bacteria and inorganic particles, meaning fewer people will get sick from contaminated drinking water.

The happy winners felt very honored to win in a field with so many interesting and inspiring companies and took the opportunity to praise the Green Tech Challenge for an intensive and educational two-week growth program.

At Kemp & Kjær, we are very proud to be official partners of the Green Tech Challenge, and we are very optimistic on behalf of the Danish business community when we experience the innovative power of both SBT Aqua and the other participating companies. We have experienced a tremendous commitment and a strong passion for making green business a good business.
