In 2012, a group of serial entrepreneurs started TechBBQ with the ambition to gather the Danish startup community at least once a year to exchange experiences. TechBBQ also attracts both Danish and foreign investors who get the opportunity to take the pulse of the startup environment in Denmark.

Unaccustomed to saying no to investors

Klaus Nyengaard, one of TechBBQ’s founders, explained at yesterday’s event how they had to turn down several investors this year as tickets were sold out – an unusual situation for most startups.

The event has become so popular that Minister for Business and Growth Troels Lund Poulsen took the time to stop by and welcome everyone.

David Helgason was just one of many inspiring entrepreneurs who shared their experiences and gave advice to the attendees.

In addition to inspiring presentations, the day included live pitches from CEO of Geniebelt, Ulrik Branner, panel debates, a world premiere and much more – all presented by Laila Pawlak from Dare2Mansion, who handled the hosting role with natural energy.

After an inspiring day at the Opera, TechBBQ hosted an afterparty at Papirøen, where there was plenty of opportunity for networking and drinks.
